Recently I downloaded the latest version of outbreak, but I've been having some problems, as the title says. At first there was only some minor problems, mostly graphics, which I just overlooked as bugs, until I saw they shouldn't be happening. The game also crashes. To make it simpler, this is what follows:
-On the level where you get to the boat, when the civilian goes to open the gate, the game will crash when i look at the gate, or forward at all.
-The second loading sequence in Ravenholm, after Gregori says "You have already met my congregation" after loading the game crashes.
-Getting shot, and explosions will make my screen go black for a second, instead of seeing the explosions or getting a blood splatter on the HUD.
That's as far as I got, unfortunately. As I said, I'm not sure if these are bugs, since I've seen these working properly on videos, and that I haven't browsed around much, but if anyone knows or can find a solution, it would be most appreciated. I'd really like to play this game properly.

- 1st and 2nd Issue I believe is fixed in the upcoming release.
- Your getting black screens most likely because your Graphics Card isn't Direct X 9, If It is then most likely you'll have to update your drivers.
Go to your Card Manufacturer's Website and download it from there.

Yeah turned out my drivers needed updating, however the problem with the screen blacking out still hasn't fixed itself. Perhaps it may be because I only downloaded the most recent version, .45, maybe I need to find the previous versions for it to work correctly?
And I see of the crash problems, hope the fix comes out soon.
Oh, and also should mention, if it'll help, my graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT, and my monitor is a 1440x900 screen. Dunno if that little shred of info would help, but sometimes it does.

"The GeForce 8500 GT isn't considered to be a serious gaming card, and is a bit slower than even a 6600 GT. It's roughly half as fast as the Geforce 8600 GT, which has been considered disappointing and underpowered by many, the main criticism being that it does not actually outperform the previous generation Geforce 7600 GT by a wide margin ie. only average of 20 percent improvement in framerates in most games (though it operates at a much higher resolution), and is actually, in some games, slightly slower or on par with the 7600 GT"
Although it should be able to still display the effects, So if your drivers are fully updated try make a reinstall.

hey buddy
you're having issues withthe direct x 9 features, such as ironsite blur etc, thats why it fades to black in a tunnel vision shape, or a center sphere
im sorry about that, this issue will be fixed in the next version, you will have to disable to the direct x visual effects in your autoexec. or config.cfg manually
such as any r_blur type features, or bullet impact blurs
i need to release a .5 thats just compatible with everyone, that way i can ease the pressure of the next release

Didn't think it would be a problem, but eh, some computers work like that. I'll be sure to use what you said for screen effects, thanks for the help.
