Ok, every great horror movie has an equally frickin sweet soundtrack that sends chills up your spine when you listen. Vet, I dont mean to be bossly but you must must absolutely have to, no exeptions include somewhere in the game, a scene where you can play that freaky Alfred Hitchcock "Psycho" music thing that goes "SCREECH SCREECH SCREECH" and causes instant pants-shitting fear! Heres a link in case my poetic descriptions dont get my meaning across: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ohd8s227O8be sure to change your pants after watching...

yeah the L4D soundtrack is a little repetitve and not relaly a "soundtrack" in my opinion. It's more of just "scary noise". Kinda like bad horror movies...

I think that's what they were going for. The whole thing's supposed to feel similar to a classic zombie film so you have sparse music bits, along with plenty of silence to build tension for the audience inbetween OH SHI- moments. The chapters' posters are likewise a nod to those movies.

regarding the soundtrack, and the l4d comparison earlier in this thread...
i think the tracks in L4D sound like its being used as a auditory HUD indicator or HUD alert (little songs that trigger when you're gettin pounced etc)
until recently, i played with that shit disabled (L4D music), it was really enjoyable with music off, it wasnt until about last week that i enabled it again when i play....yeah i dont think you can compare the soundtracks at all
most of the shit you're gonna hear in game comes from motion picture soundtracks, some of the better shit that hollywood has offered
some may feel like they've heard these melodies before but cant quite put their fi on it, some may never have heard these before at all, some of them come from other games we've played, whats so cool about single player, is that you have no limits to what you can do, as long as its tasteful and applied properly
the mod is pretty flashy with the overall variety of visuals between bloom and vector blurs etc, so if someone is dressed in a nice suit, they need nice shoes or they will look really odd, same thing with the soundtrack, the mod already has this "larger than life" feel to it, so i want the soundtrack to match the intensity or whatever, as dress shoes match tuxedos
whats important, is that i really dont wanna SATURATE that shit with too many different styles
