A tale of veteran_gamer's childhood, tainted by the threat of gay zombies everywhere - the young boy barely survived with his digestive tract intact!

I feel like a uber man with the abillity to toss back multiple undead with my pistol swing. But the other oddness aside, the AI director is good on how it can just pick up a map. I put in de_forest from css or GMOD and its nav file, it only had a few missing textures, add director_force_panic in the console and the zombies are charging at you thru the woods, everything moves fine thru the map.

I love it. I don't feel so stupid like I do when I play other Co-op games. When I play CSS I'm so lame I shoot my allies. On L4D, it's easy for me to tell the zombies from my team mates.

I still haven’t played it, is it actually immersive or does it feel arcade-ish? Just wondering, I have allot of games to play and not nearly enough time to play them so I was curious whether or not this is worth the time.

its fun dude, its pretty arcade-style gameplay, but they did an amazing job of animation/ragdoll deaths, some of the animations are really fun to watch, from stomping your bitch ass out, or getting on one knee and punching your face violently. The mandatory "you better cooperate" coop system is pretty cool too, even though there's friendly fire, everyone is more useful to you alive than dead.
the weapon sfx do suffer a bit from recycled Source based mods to clunky smg fire, but those can easily be modded. the AI is really good, sometimes NPC teammates are more useful than humans to be honest, the graphics are well done and use all of sources latest bells and whistles.
the music soundtrack isnt bad at all either, its not mind blowing, but very appropriate and well composed!
all in all i'd give this an 9.0, which is pretty much a 10 in my book since no game will ever get a 10 or 9.5
this is definitely worth the 44 bucks, and as much as id love to buy it, i cant, damn :[ not for at least a month or more
this game is exactly what a modder needs when he's taking break. I always look forward to new releases so i can use them for my "break" days, things is, i beat them all within days. this one is something that'll keep you occupied for a while, although in the demo, after the two campaign maps i find myself quitting because it gets old. I think the full version has 15 maps which is why the replay value will be so good, this is a definite game you can burn time away with for a good 3 months to a year
my demo has 5.2 days left, so id better get my time in now before i say goodbye to it for a while, plus this weekend is smod weekend as always, which means no left 4 head
he left.. why did he leave? he left 4 head.. no wonder!

The full version will have 4 campaigns with 5 maps each. The demo only has 1.5 maps as they cut the subway map in half. VG let me know if you want better gun sounds, I edited them to be quite a bit more better.

Maybe I will give it a try later on tonight and see if it is worthy.

yeah, just got done playing it for a couple of hours, like i said, without the extra maps it gets a bit old, but its pretty damn fun while it lasts we should play before friday, whoever wants to play cause the weekend is for smod and after that, the demo runs outta juice, besides those two maps are gonna get annoying eventually, good to play while that "new" feelinbg lasts

Yeah I'd say its good, the animations are very well done, especially the infected running and jumping over things. Maybe the price they had to pay to have all those NPCs on screen was to make the "engine" look "smaller" so to speak, it has that css or "arcade" like feel, thats the only thing I don't like about it, and yeah the guns and the hud kind of kill the immersiveness of it, but that can all be modded, the over all feel of the two maps tho is to arcade like for me, but I'm sure there will be more well done maps. And it seems like regular Source maps have more standout detail than these Left 4 Dead maps, for instance the bodies on the ground and things all lack detail. But this will be compatibile with most of all the source stuff, so I'm sure much of this can be fixed.

Yeah I noticed the legs as well. The only other place I know that you could see your legs was Halo 3. Well I preordered and saved 5 dollars in the process, I've already predownloaded the full version as well. After I play the full version some, I'll tell you people with the demo whether or not its worth buying. But one thing. I turned on GCF scape and I couldn't edit any of the sounds. Is this just because its unreleased or because GCF scape is too outdated for Left 4 Dead (Not Left 4 Head! )?
