If I may I have a small suggestion, if for nothing but the sake of realism, which is having the Zombie skin decomposition align with their level of infection.
ie. The running Zombies (zombie2?) would have a cleaner skin because they'd be freshly infected, still having good motor functions and mobility they can run fast, maybe just a few blood splatters on the skin.
The lumbering zombies would have a greater level of decomposition which would attribute to their loss of mobility.
Sorry if this isn't making any sense. I'm just trying to spew it out from my brain before I forget it.

say, I havent been on in a while, and I dont know what your progress/ status is, but you still plan on using Fallout 3 models, right?
I thought, as long as you're doing that, would you be able to port over the deathclaw? Would it be possible to give it fast zombie animations and attacks? I think that would be sweet!
My thoughts were, that maybe in the outbreak universe, the combine bred/raised them to engage the zombies and rebels in close quarters to minimize their own casualties. perhaps you could hack a stalker's "visor" or whatever it is onto the deathclaw's heads, so it looks like they're being subdued and controlled.
And maybe, after Gordon and Alyx return to the city, the chaos leads to a large number of the deathclaws escaping, going feral, and roaming the city in packs, attacking Combine, zombie, and rebel alike.
what do you think? would that be cool, or is it too "out-there?"

The deathclaw idea is very good , but mabye there should be an antanne/ radar thingy on their heads, so they seem like they're recieving orders/commands from an officer or commander. Also, I think you could zap them with the gravity gun so they lose control and attack anything around them or get stunned.Usefull if there are crowds of enemies.

Lol hehe I know this gonna sound a little crazy but can you make some new maps like your in the forest and some combine forest soldiers attack you and maybe add a troll NPC that combines made when they first attacked the Earth but couldnt control them so the Trolls ran away in the forest and are raping innocent passers?xd You can port a troll model from any LOTR game (I think).

There was also the portion at the start where you're suppose to be knocked out and then saved by Alyx.... unfortunately, that part is broken due to all the Combine having guns. Thats because of the npc_weapon_randomize.txt file. There is said that the metro police have weapons. You can solve this problem by open that file and then make the follow insertions: "d1_trainstation_01" { "npc_metropolice" { "weapon_lstick" "100" } "npc_citizen" { "weapon_none" "100" } } "d1_trainstation_02" { "npc_metropolice" { "weapon_lstick" "100" } "npc_citizen" { "weapon_none" "100" } } "d1_trainstation_03" { "npc_metropolice" { "weapon_lstick" "100" } "npc_citizen" { "weapon_none" "100" } } "d1_trainstation_04" { "npc_metropolice" { "weapon_lstick" "100" } "npc_citizen" { "weapon_none" "100" } } "d1_trainstation_05" { "npc_alyx" { "weapon_none" "100" } } after that you go to the excludeweapons.txt file and open it. scroll down and find the entry: "weapon_lstick" {} Now Type // in front of it and you are finished. It should look like that: // "weapon_lstick" {} Now all metro police cops in the first part of the game have the stun baton as weapon and everything should work fine now. sorry guys for my mistake. of course this is wrong! for weapon_lstick you must write weapon_stunstick. Then everything should work.

how about orks instead of trolls? the orks from Warhammer 40k are the best orks. Also, how about you can choose orks to be your allies but you cannot choose combine friendlies??Or the other way round?? The ally choosing idea might work on something else(Rebels or Combine etc), but still, ORKS RULE!!!!

I think trolls would be... well there would probably be a bag full of hatemail in VG's box with similar names like, "Trolls: How do I remvoe them," "Trolls: Why have you forsaken us," and then an email that reads, "Wow cool trolls." That email would be made by hole2score.

i've noticed that many of us have complained that the source engine can't make any good melee weps, so how about your make something like the knife swipe in COD 4 and 5 when you press 'V'?? I think simply clicking 'V' is better than switching to the katana/ULTRAKNIFE then attacking , then switching back to your gun to keep shooting.

I think they actually had a quick-melee button for Half Life: Substance. Maybe VG could steal that one. Ownership has never slowed him down before. There's not much to making a Quick Melee button, but the time the weapon spends drawing needs to be short or it'll take a second or three. HL2's crowbar, for instance, takes practically forever to start swinging. An example from my SMODT config: alias +jmsc_melee "use weapon_custom25;use weapon_shovel;+attack" alias -jmsc_melee "-attack;lastinv" bind del "+jmsc_melee"
When I press Delete, it tries to select the knife, then the shovel. Since my game's set so you can only have one melee weapon at a time, it'll use whichever I have. Then it'll start and keep attacking until I let go of the key (or 'til I get my shit ruined). After I let go, it'll switch back to whatever I was holding before I pressed the key. You should be able to add your Quick Melee command to your control menu by fiddling with scripts/kb_act.lst in a text edtior (ex. Notepad) after you've got it working okay. e: Hey there, sunshine.

Hey VG, your mod is very well made, and I love the weapons and all..... but where are the ironsights? I think you added them, but I couldn't look through all of the new updates with the new Smod: Outbreak.
And as for the zombies, I think you should make them have more health. Its too easy to fight a zombie horde and mow them down easily, but having to put some effort forth (Like using explosives or using the gravity gun to get them hit) would be nice. Not saying that its not hard, its just that the zombies could be harder. I hate going into the console and typing sk_zombie2_health_200 or sk_zombie_health_500. It doesn't have to be that hard, i'm just pretty hard core.
And of course, don't make too many fastzombies, I FUCKING HATE THEM!!! (Sorry for the outburst) I can handle like 5 or 10, but thats it! Other-wise I will be screaming, because I just hate how annoying they are.
On another note, I don't think that you have been stealing anything at all. You don't steal shit! If you ever take something you ask for permission. You are responsible, and you would never do that!
(This part is not pointed towards VG) For the knife swipe, why? It should be as it always is. If you have a 3-foot katana, you can't just swipe really quickly and then put it back in a split second like a..... well.... I doubt anyone can do that. You are going to be lifting it carefully and slowly so you don't cut yourself and its going to be heavy. FYI : ITS GOING TO TAKE FOREVER TO TAKE IT OUT!
Anyway, those are just some suggestions. I love your mod, so don't fuck-up, take your time like you always do. And good-luck man, you have a LONG road ahead of ya.

I think the zombie health is ok. Not everyone is a hardcore gamer like you. I think it should be opional like: type "exec hardcore" in console and your enemies and so on are harder.
You can draw a katana really fast if you need to. Also you can kill a zombie in one hit. But that would be to realistic and boring.
